The Sabbath Was Made for You
Mark 2:23-36
Pastor Weibley

All ladies are cordially invited to our first meeting of the Fall which will be held Friday, September 10th, at 7 p.m. in the church library. Laura W. will be showing her slides of “Alaska: Land of the Midnight Sun.” We hope you will join us for an interesting evening of fellowship together. What is Ladies’ Nite Out? LNO is for all women of the church. It is held the second Friday each month September through May except for December. Our meetings are held at various homes or in the church library. There are short devotions followed by a program and light refreshments.
We have a need for teachers for our 1st and 2nd grade children. If you are a church member and believe this might be an area where you could serve, please contact Deb P. or Matt P. We need an immediate response; September is not that far away.
Is being formed to explain what commitment to this local body is all about. Here about our covenant, history, and God’s work of faithfully maintaining a gospel ministry in this town for 229 years. Sign up by using the sheet on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall.
Hopefully spring fever has hit, and you are going through your Spring and Summer clothing to determine what to keep and what to give away. The men, women, and children at His Mansion are of all sizes. If you bring your items in plastic bags or in small to medium size boxes and place them under the poster in Swanson Fellow-ship Hall, I will gladly transport them to His Mansion. Let us continue to be His hands and His feet.
We still need a couple of people to volunteer to take the two morning course coming in the fall that will certify as a “Certified Food Handler” for five years. The course will be given at the Carlisle Town Hall and the cost can be picked up by the Kitchen Fund. Currently we have two certified people and their certification expires in 2012. It is best if we can stagger these certifications. Any function that is open to the public and we charge for, or any catered function must have a “Certified Person” on hand. Please pray about this, especially if you are a regular kitchen person. It’s only two mornings, once every five years for the course, and the certification is national so you can take it with you if you leave. Please contact Irene B. or Deb Pichulo if you are willing.

Join us each Sunday morning in the Conference Room (near the pastor’s study) from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. or from 10:30 - 10:55 a.m. to pray for CCC during this time of transition. Come each week or when you’re free!
